Like an acorn falling from a Maple tree beneath
a hot, New England, summer sky.
Maybe an over-ripe, red delicious split wide open on the
frosted soil of old Cape Cod in September.
Leaves franticly whipping around Boston Common sheltering springs'
grass from the northeast snowfalls to come.
And the "T", overwhelmed with frugal tourist, time-travelers,
vagabonds and even push cart peddlers.
You can almost feel the history being made as you scuff
your feet up and down Newbury Street.
Sometimes you have to look in the mirror just to convince
yourself that you are still alive.
If the shadows shy you away from cutting between buildings
or maybe the racing taxi cabs
remind you of a vacation you took as a child to
London or New York City.
Don't be alarmed or afraid.
Close your eyes yet open your mind.
Imagine all the truths and all those lies.
Combine them into one complete thought.
Now open your eyes.
The pain will go away but regrets will last forever…
